Question: Why do some people try to compare things that aren't comparable?
Compliments of Redfin, I bring you my selection for the "Most Ridiculous Article Of The Day" award. It is titled: The Inequality of Energy Costs: California Homeowners Get a Break
The research, I'm sure, is meticulous but the comparison is ridiculous.
As I said in the comments section of the article: "It is ridiculous to compare the ratio of energy costs to housing costs for insanely high price housing in SF (for example) where temps are mild to the Midwest where prices are much cheaper and temperatures more extreme. The only accurate way to compare is dollar to dollar for an equal sized home. The energy consumption and costs on home within any given city can vary due to multiple factors. Buyers can request an energy usage report to review prior to purchase."
Such a comparison is like having a fruit basket and comparing one fruit to another. Does the saying comparing apples to oranges come to mind? I repeat... it is ridiculous.
What say you?
