Serendipity Sundays - A Rose is a Rose or Is It?

We had a nice dinner this weekend at one of our local restaurants that offers a quiet setting and many assorted dishes and cuisines. My husband had a juicy steak and I had Asian chicken and mushrooms with fried rice.

When my dinner arrived my plate was adorned with a beautiful rose. It was about 3 inches in diameter and at least 2 inches tall. It rested on a small bed of shredded lettuce. This was a delicate little salad and raised questions as to what the rose made from.  I asked our server and now I know. Can you figure it out?

A rose is a rose or is it?

Serendipity Sundays- A Rose is a Rose, or Is It?

(The answer: It is made from an Asian raddish and colored.)

It is quite a talent, William Feela. My mom could make interesting shapes out of vegetables. She was so creative.

It was secure underneath with a toothpick. I should have taken on petal off and tried it, Rebecca Gaujot, the Go To Realtor®.

I was going to guess a beet, but Asian radish makes more sense. How delightful!

That was my guess, Lottie Kendall becasue of the color. The server said the radish was the size of a volleyball.

Hi Debbie - We have a local chinese restaurant that does the same thing, so I knew the answer. The first time I saw it, I was afraid it was beets : (

How beautiful. I never would have guessed it was a radish. I was thinking it might be a beet because of the color.

Hello Debbie

Catchy title and when I first viewed the photo it look like a potatoe or vegetable that was dyed red
