Oh, Margaret!  Nothing is scarier than dead air!  But perhaps your listeners were equally speechless and needed a minute to recover along with you!

well I can see how that would be a show stopper.  I wonder why people feel the need to go down certain paths in such an inappropriate situation

Oh, MY.....Margaret speechless on the radio! Well, sometimes the PAUSE and SILENCE is equally as effective. Just like a lot of "white space" in an ad, with one simple sentence. It certainly grabs your attention.

Do you have a 7 second delay just in case the call goes south Margaret Rome, Baltimore Maryland  ? 

Great story. ON our show we DO have the 7 second delay button at the ready. I had a friend of mine who arrnanged a ton of 2nd notes during the last BOOM market. They all had 30% equity behind them but unfortuneatly our market dropped close to 50+%. Many folks lost out on those seconds. He and many others lost a fortune. He was on my show chatting about this as one of the downsides to lending private money. Some guy called in and started to RIP him for stealing all of his money--We quickly hit the 7 second button as the caller was there to disparage my friend. The caller, who I knew, not only lent but had many seconds he owed on his income properties.

  Your sight- impaired caller reminded me of another time when I was speaking to a colleaque in an elevator and a lady with a cane and dark clases was next to us. She blurted out, "Mike Kelly? Is that you?" She was a long time listener to the show and recognized my voice!
