Most of our trees are still mostly green here in Washington, DC. But this afternoon, on my way home from a long day in suburban Montgomery County, I saw this around the corner from my house. And of course, I had to pull over, roll down the car window and grab my trusty little Samsung point and shoot. So it's really starting to look like autumn!
That is a great tree to have in a back yard.
My autum is laying on the ground
That's abeautiful tree, Pat! It's been fun to see what's happening fall-wise in other parts of the country. There's a tree across the street from us that looks like this, with palm trees in the background.

Endre, there are a few types of trees that have changed colors, but most of them are still green.
Donna, they are supposed to be amazing along Skyline Drive, but not so much in town. We've only had a couple of cold nights.
Paul, in your part of the world, you have a lot of water to reflect the leaves.
Sally and David, your leaves must be pretty much at their peak right now! Bet they are gorgeous.
Oh, Jay! We have several months of cold and slush and snow between now and spring!
Sheila, it was fun finding this photo. I haven't taken many that I like lately!
Rebecca, this time last year I took a road trip to North Carolina and it was stunning.
Myrl, most of us don't think of fall and changing colors for southern California!
Patricia, right now there are a few of these, and there is another tree that looks like it really is gold. I'm off to shoot it tomorrow.
I am noticing many red ones and a few oranges one. The gold ones will be turning in a week or two.
Debbie, I dropped by to take a shot of my favorite gold tree and it's still mostly green!
Hi Patricia Kennedy , Autumn is my favorite season. I guess that's the artist in me. Thanks for sharing your leaves with us.
That's some of the most beautiful fall foliage I've seen all season! Very, very lovely! Very great things ahead!
