Trick-or-Treating can be an extremely fun & exciting event - or it can be scary!
Here are a few tips to make sure you offer a safe Trick-or-Treating experience at your home!
Light it Up - Make sure the entire walk way to your door is lit up. General rule of thumb for Trick-or-Treaters is to not approach homes that do not have lights on. A few Halloween decorations can go a long way to encourage more kids to come scoop up your candy!
Don't Use Flammable Decorations - Even though most costumes are flame resistant, you don't want to end up melting all that chocolate! Costume materials such as paper, hay, etc can catch fire quick. Many kids make their own costumes and may accidentally be using flammable materials.
Check for Tripping Hazards - Inspect the walkway up to the front door to make sure there are no tripping hazards. Hazards can include cracks, roots, wires, cords, branches, etc.
Watch Your Dog - Even if Fido is friendly, it is best to contain your pup away from the front door. Some costumes can be really scary to a dog and cause them to bite or run away. It's best if you can make him/her comfortable away from the door.
Hope you enjoy your Halloween and let us know how much candy you gave out!
