Kimberly Sheehan

Growing up, my parents were super heroes: A State Trooper and a nurse. They saved people at work and off duty almost every day of my childhood. I can think of no better way to honor them then giving back to local heroes in my own community.

Two significant events make being an affiliate even more meaningful for me:

  • My son was born with adrenal disease. We had no idea of his condition until he crashed one day. EMTs, doctors and nurses worked tirelessly for hours resuscitating him. Without their hard work and dedication, I would not have my son with me today. I can never thank them enough.
  • After 9/11, my father, who was working with the FBI, was dispatched to the crash site in Shanksville, PA. This was an extremely difficult time for Americans, especially those directly affected. The people who stepped in as first responders witnessed the unthinkable and were examples of heroes everywhere who step up every day.
