Atlantic Avenue sets the pace for cool. The “Avenue” is a traditional main street complete with quaint brick sidewalks and gaslight-style street lamps. Gourmet restaurants, friendly bistros, and outdoor cafes mix with boutiques, gift shops, and performing art centers for a vibrant streetscape. Just off the Avenue, the historic Pineapple Grove is a colorful blend of galleries, murals, and public art. If you love to discover history and culture, make time for both Old School Square and Spady Cultural Heritage Museum. Make way for special events. Live music, vendors, and awesome times are found during Delray Affair, St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival, and 4th of July Celebration, while tennis fans can enjoy the Delray Beach Open. And don’t forget, the beach sits right on the corner of Atlantic Avenue and A1A – it’s a stunning place to see the sunrise. Not far from the all the hoopla of downtown, Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens enchantingly restores your Zen. Extraordinary flora, fauna, and gentle water fixtures surround walkways. Inside the Morikami, save time for the tea ceremony, traveling exhibits, and sushi. Delray Beach is a coastal city in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city had a total population of 60,522. The population was estimated at 66,255 in 2015. Delray Beach is part of the Miami metropolitan area. Recorded history began with the construction of the Orange Grove House of Refuge in 1876.
