I love the Fall in Daytona Beach. The temperatures comfortably in the mid to upper 80s, and it is a welcome change from even low 90s. It is comfortably warm. The water in the ocean is still warm, and you can be outside pretty much the whole day…
I find it the best time of the year. Long walks on the beach, the ocean, still calming after Hurricane Matthew, recovering green, beaten by ferocious hurricane winds…
There was significant damage, many signs are down, roofs gone, trees fallen or snapped… Similar to the damage from Hurricane Charley in 2004.
But this time there is some more serious damage to buildings after Hurricane Matthew. Several condo-hotel buildings were forced to close doors. There are even high-rise condos, which are forced to vacate units because of the structural damage to the building.
But life is back, no depression, the spirit is high. Daytona Beach is becoming beautiful again. It is yet too early to say how the real estate market would be affected by the hurricane. Yes, we see dramatic drop in prices for some units in severely damaged buildings, but this is expected…
As always, there will be some opportunities, some losses, and some gains. We will soon know.
