Late Bloomers

Better Late Than Never

I've been watching these flowers hoping they would bloom before they are covered with snow. We have actually had several days where the temp has gone below freezing but with the plants being so close to the house they have had just enough protection to survive.

Late Bloomers by Bob Timm

We have had a good Fall this year, maybe a bit above average, but I remember many Halloweens where we were knee deep in snow. It's definitely a bonus to still see flowers blooming just two days before November.

That's for sure Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, Broker, Tacoma Washington , once the temp drops to 20 degrees or less all the blooming will be over.

I have a plant that is going to town right now.  We are having rain and cooler temps.  I will soon need to cover it at night or it will likely die.

I've thought about covering these or even potting them Kathleen Daniels but I've decided to just let nature do what nature does.

I'm really glad this one made it in under the wire Michelle Carr-Crowe-Top 1% Diamond Certified Agent Sells Homes San Jose, Cupertino, Saratoga, Palo Alto-Just Call 408-252-8900 but I'm not betting on the Easter lily making it.

Good morning Bob.  The temps around here are well above average for this time of the year. However, by next Sunday they should be back to normal according to the news this morning.  Good to hear they bloomed before the real cold temps set in.

Thanks James Dray . I'm not looking forward to winter as it just hangs around to long but the joy spring brings makes it all worth it.

I'm amazed these have made it Vern Eaton . we cleared out the rest of our gardens but this one has just shown to much promise to wipe it out yet.

Seeing those buds on the lilies seems crazy this time of year.  However, here at my home, my azaelias are blooming, for the second time this year.  That doesn't usually happen!

The lilies were planted after they bloomed in pots for Easter so this is their 2nd time as well Myrl Jeffcoat
