On October 31...
It’s October 31 and that calendar is swiftly turning into November.
And you know what that means...yes, the year is coming to an end.
Many have said where has the year gone?
And that’s with an extra day in 2016 too.
Of course, we know time is finite.
Our most precious commodity. The one thing we can’t expand.
How did it get so late so soon?
Dr Seuss
A lot has happened this year.
For me. Some good. Some not so good.
Business that has come from the traditional places --
past clients - referrals - open houses
Some surprises too. And many of those surprises have been good.
And a favorite:
I found you online
That never gets old even when the conversation doesn’t end up in an appointment let alone a sale.
See, when you drive home today,
you've got a big windshield on the front of your car.
And you've got a little bitty rearview mirror.
And the reason the windshield is so large and
the rearview mirror is so small is because what's happened in your past is not near as important as what's in your future.
Joel Osteen
So while I understand it’s important to reflect on the past, it’s good to be present(and in the present) while constantly moving forward.
My goal today and throughout the remainder of 2016 is the same as it was on January 1. In 2016 and in 2015 --- In fact, for a while now.
I can’t predict the future.
There are many areas I can’t control.
There are outside influences that may have an impact on me.
On my life. On my real estate practice.
I can control how I spend my day.
I can decide what I will do. Or not do.
Where I will devote my energy. My focus. My thoughts. My actions.
So in these final 60 or so days of 2016 -- I will continue along the path of can and the power of can.
It’s not a time for me to redefine goals but refine what I do….there’s always room for improvement.
I can always learn...and I’m grateful that everyday that option is available to me because that’s what I choose. Because I can.
“The future depends on what you do today.”
Mahatma Gandhi
