I have lived in Secaucus for 10 years and I still love the small town feel, surprisingly. I always thought I would want to live in a city environment but Secaucus has the best of both worlds, a small town charm yet close to various cities. Since I had a child this town has appealled to me even more. The schools are excellent, as well as the activities for children. The town is loaded with beautiful parks, an ice rink, as well as a skate park. I love the various activities that the town offers at reasonable prices as long as you're a resident.
Secaucus is in the midst of building a recreation center that will have an olympic sized pool, indoor track, swimming lessons, senior aerobics, etc. They are even planning to have the facility utilized by the schools and yet our taxes are reasonable (80% funded by non-tax revenues). It's nice to know that I am not the only one with this feeling since NJ Monthly has Secaucus listed as #11 in the top 100 places to live within NJ.
