Election day is next week, and everyone’s attention is turned to uncertainty as to whether or not their candidate will be elected. Your vote counts in the election obviously, but regardless of the outcome, it is important that you take control of your business.
The best real estate agents are those who have an entrepreneurial spirit and who view themselves as CEOs of their own company. Your vote counts in your career because without it, you cannot be captain of your own ship.
One of the greatest advantages of getting a real estate license is that you can control your hours, your business plan and your life to a certain degree. Your vote counts when it comes to expanding, lead generation and spending money. Your vote counts when the question of a vacation comes up, and your vote counts in determining whether you’ll give yourself a raise this coming year.
Don’t be lulled into the same old thinking, i.e. not believing and/or understanding the fact that you are only limited by your own choices. Have you started writing goals for 2017? You know, your vote counts toward those goals and how they shape up. Have you told yourself that there are some changes that need to be made in your business plan? Your vote counts toward the changes that are implemented.
So many real estate agents know they are self-employed, but they do not structure their day-to-day lives as CEOs. They allow circumstances and others to dictate their daily activities. They do not take control of their own schedules. Your vote counts in all these plans! Make a decision and then block off some time to work toward that decision. I love the quote from Benjamin Franklin, “People who fail to plan are planning to fail. They may not realize it, but that’s what they are doing. Their vote is useless; they don’t take a leadership role in their own company, and then rely on brokers, floor duty and other agents to get them by without ever knowing how their company could flourish if they would just put systems and commitments into place.
Your vote counts, and unless you have family helping to make your decisions about your career, your vote is the only one of importance. Voting for yourself is crucial. Don’t work against yourself. It’s easy to get pumped up in a sales meeting or at a rally or gathering, especially when motivational speakers are present. You need to take that motivation or that juice, and before it dies down, put it into play. This is November, people! Don’t let 2017 sneak up on you without already having a plan in place! Vote for your career and stay true to your goals and expectations! TEAM Hughes is where you need to be to start a new career in real estate, so contact us and let’s get this going together. I’ll even share our 2017 goals with you!
