How many real estate sales agents had a listing where the owner asked you to offer his furniture for sale to the buyer? Almost every other listing I get listed, has this extra "benefit".
- Are we in the furniture business?
- Do we have to negotiate the sale of a dinning room with the sale of the house and get off track of our main goal...selling the property?
- After all are we making a commission on the sale of the furniture?
whether it is an antique piece of furniture or a hand me down chandelier from generation to generation, my gut feeling try NOT to get involved in selling furniture. It's not our expertise.
In the begining when I got into this real estate business, I got involved in the sale of furniture, paintings etc.. and soon thereafter, I found out that my clients either the seller or the buyer, used these items to negotiate and bargain some more or even to hold off the sale of the property until they got that crystal door nob or that antique chandelier.
Focus, focus focus!! last I saw, I am a Licensed real estate sales agent and NOT furniture sales agent. Tell you seller tof irst focus on the property sale and when this is done then you can focus on the furniture sale if you wish to be that helpful.
