If you are new to the Pinehurst/Southern Pines area, you will definitely have to visit the Festival of Trees. It is guaranteed to get you into the Christmas spirit. A holiday tradition since 1997, the Sandhills Children’s Center once again will kick off the holiday season in the Sandhills full of glitz and glamour and holiday cheer. November 16-20, the historic Carolina Hotel in Pinehurst, NC will transform into a winter wonderland. The Carolina Hall will be decked out from floor to ceiling with over 100 themed Christmas trees, wreaths, gingerbread houses, and gift baskets donated by local businesses and groups. All decorations will be available for bid through online auction and all proceeds benefit children with special needs. The event is free to the public, though donations are welcome. In addition to the beautiful trees and decor, the Festival Marketplace is a great place to pick up unique, hard to find Christmas gifts for those on your shopping list. This spectacular event is expected to raise over $200,000 to benefit the Sandhills Children’s Center this year. For more information about the Festival of Trees, visit www.festivaloftrees.org.
Barbara, I totally agree. I was amazed this year at how quickly Christmas decorations appeared in the stores even before Halloween was over. Good luck hosting the great feast at your house this year!
