Full of Grace on West Grace in the Fan:
1820 West Grace Street
BLOCK/NEIGHBORHOOD:
Before you even step foot in our newest listing at 1820 West Grace Street, you'll fall in the love with the block. There are gorgeous Victorian row homes with grand porches on a cobblestone street lined with spectacular trees. It's just down the block from Grace Manor Inn, which was a fabulous local B&B (now personal residence), Grace Street Park and the Orchard House School. And you are also likely to see some of the kids on the block setting up a lemonade stand.
INTERIOR:
Now that you've fallen in love with the block, come inside 1820 West Grace Street for the main event. As you enter the home you'll immediately notice the grand entryway. It's unusual to have such a large entryway in the Fan- especially with a wrap-around staircase in the center of the home. It's my favorite feature of the home! Working pocket doors (yes, you read that correctly- working pocket doors) will take you into the open family room. The dining room overlooks the back deck and over-sized yard. The kitchen has been remodeled but they were sure to keep the exposed brick on one wall- nice touch. The first floor is finished off with a renovated half bath.
Head up the grand staircase and you'll find the master bedroom, and 2 additional bedrooms. The master has a great bay window, perfect for capturing the warm afternoon sun. The other bedroom has french doors that open up to the top of the porch. On the other side of the hall, you have a renovated full bath (complete with a claw foot tub, of course). And who wants to be running up and down the stairs to do laundry? Not me! They have a full laundry and utility room on the second floor. It has great potential to become an enormous walk in closet as well.
EXTERIOR:
As you head back outside, you've got to check out the garage and off street parking. While one is nice, two is down-right fantastic. It's one of the larger yards in the Fan, but with just the right amount of grass to mow. The home is fully detached on both sides, so no need to worry if you neighbors are in a rock band (but rest assured they are not!).
YOUR NEIGHBORS:
In addition to being part of the Historic Fan District (and part of the FDA/Fan District Association), West Grace Street has it's own Association - West Grace Street Association. The West Grace Street Association plans many fun events, including their famous porch parties during the summer. You are sure to be sipping cocktails with your neighbors and watching the kids play on the sidewalk from our listing at 1820 West Grace Street.
