I love our country and I know others do also.  Moving to Canada just isn't a good option, but if they do I will be happy to sell thier home.

Phillip the housing market has been horrible for most of the country since 2007.  The low interest rates have failed to do what they should have done.  I for one will welcome the higher interest rates.  Even though higher rates will reduce buying power, they will motivate the fence sitters to act and purchase a home in fear the rates will continue to grow.  The market needs motivation, and higher rates will motive homebuyers to act now and not later.  So while highe rates will reduce buying power, the will motivate an increase in sales.

Having said that my opinion and $2.00 might buy you a cup of coffee these days.

George I agree with you, totally.  Rising interest rates will mean the economy is improving.  This will eventually bring a better employment opportunities and higher wages.  We just have to be patient since wages and job growth are lagging indicators to a strong economy.

You got it Michael.  We just have to be patient and let the economy recover from all the government meddling.   We eventually will have a much stronger market.

Phillip, we have a real estate tycoon moving into the White House, and you think he would actually let house prices tank?  Hmmm.  Who knows?  They might!

Nov 10, 2016 11:09 AM
Phillip Himes

Patricia, Thanks for you comments.  I don't think that at all.  I think he will actually make the economy stronger.  We should see inflation which will make house prices rise.  In addition, we should see interest rate rise which will reduce the buying power of our clients.  This is designed to motivate them to buy sooner rather than later.
