I have to say that this week has been rough. There was my dentist appointment. Shutter. The fact that I have another one next month. My fillings are older than 40 years old and they've told me it is time to replace a couple of them. I guess the good news on that front is if they replacements last for another 40 years perhaps it will be the last time I need any :)
And of course the election and the aftermath on social media. Frankly I've just turned off my Facebook. I've deleted the app from my phone and perhaps I'll try and venture back there after a while, but the fear mongering and hatred I saw the last couple of days is beyond what my tender heart and stand to see coming from folks I thought were rational.
But the truly delightful part of my week was a phone call on Tuesday. Evelyn told me who it was when I answered her call and I was delighted to hear from her. We'd spoken before on the phone, but I was elated when when she said she was calling to see if I was in my office because she was about an hour and half away and wanted to stop by. I was giddy with joy. Donald had gotten off work and stopped by my office when they arrived. And yes they were invited to the "back porch" where coffee and good conversations happen. I could have talked to the two of them for hours on end... but they had to move on up the road toward home. But I was delighted beyond words they stopped by and it certainly was a bright spot on this week.
Searching for Tammy Lankford...
Driving north on I-75 toward home, Larry and I decided we would stop and see a few Active Rainer's. Our first visit was to Tammy Lankford, of Lane Realty located at Lake Sinclair, Georgia.
We all know Tammy's Clientele are either purchasing a second home on the Lake or retiring there, because of her extensive posts and blogs, her local website and participation on Facebook, her potential Clients find her...so we asked Google for help.
The google map looked like it was a direct path leading to her office. Yet, Google took us toward Savannah, to a few two lane roads, a dirt road, tried to get us to turn right onto a railroad track, and finally, right to her front door!
The office she built ten years ago has a huge front porch, the kind you can sit on a rocking chair for hours and talk the afternoon away. Hidden on the back of the Office is a screened porch that welcomed us and we spent some enjoyable time chit chatting away with both Tammy and Donald. This is southern hospitality at it's best!
We are getting closer...
All of the driving and the sight seeing so we could get to Tammy Lankford!
Upon arriving we found Tammy coming out the front door to greet us, we got to meet one of her Agents, Nancy, getting ready to leave for the day, and none other than Donald! THE Donald, made legendary by many many posts, not The DONALD who won the Presidential Election...
We didn't get to spend enough time with Tammy and Donald, we felt we interupted their lives enough by just dropping in, so after an hour and a half of great conversation and laughs, and a very good cup of coffee, we hit the road again. We will be back, and we will give them more notice! Hopefully the next time Tammy will be able to show us her Lake!
Now that we know the r e a l directions, we are already looking forward to our next visit, whenever we are anywhere near central Georgia!
