Thankful for Turkeys

turkeys

Day 1 of 10 blog posts focusing on many things that I am thankful for. Today, I discovered these three turkeys wandering outside of my gym. When I approached with my camera, the bird on the left rose up, opened his wings, and I swear grew twice his size.  He was protecting the others, of course.

I gave them space and managed to capture this one photo of them. They were quite magestic, and I am thankful that they were at the gym the same time I was!

I am thankful for turkeys, especially when they appear in unusual places.

They have overtake Davis CA and causing so much havoc.  But, I agree they can be beautiful especially the toms when they show all the finery of their colorful tails.

I didn't realize they were a nuisance, Ingrid. We see them so rarely here.
