I’m Thankful for Tumblr.com
You May Not Believe it but Here's Why!
The Real Debbie Reynolds is sponsoring a 10-day Thanksgiving Post Challenge from today through Thanksgiving Day for us to share why we are thankful and for what!
No doubt we are all thankful for many things, and this is a wonderful way to share our thoughts with others.
I’m thankful for Tumblr. It’s a social media site and you might wonder how can anyone really be thankful for an online site?!
Our 2 daughters and their husbands started private Tumblr sites when their kids were first born – we now have 3 grandchildren ages 5, 2 yrs. 10 months, and 18 months. The beauty of these private Tumblr sites is that there is a chronology, from birth til now, of photos, videos, and musings from the parents (you know the crazy stuff kids say) – hundreds and hundreds of pages filled with the joy of babies growing up right before our eyes over the years as if we were there!
While we live only a couple of hours away these Tumblr sites have given us a daily glimpse into the lives of our children and their children when we could not be there, as well as many photos and videos of family time when we have visited or they visit us… and a blessed opportunity for us to share in their lives daily.
There are aspects of technology and being online that drive me nuts…but Tumble sites are something very special for us to treasure now and for many years to come. And no doubt will provide hours of embarassment when these kids are teenagers! Good luck Mom and Dad!
These sites are private, and so no photos or videos. But I can tell you they have brought us many hours of joy and laughter, and no doubt will for years to come.
