Unfinished Bonus Rooms vs finished

As most of you who know me know, A large part of my business is new construction. There is a falasy out there that I would like to shed some light on.

   Kirkland development, the builder that I represent, finishes all of there bonus rooms during construction. There is a simple reason for that. If a bonus room with full bath and closet , as well as a second HVAC unit with return air and ductwork, is finished during construction, it costs about $20,000. If the buyer waits until post completion, the same would cost $40,000 or more. In addition, if there is no plumbing there, it is not feasible to install plumbing after the fact. It must go  in prior to pouring the slab.

  In short, if the buyer thinks he's getting a better deal buying a home with an unfinished bonus room, he's not!
