A Different Look at the Moon - Photography Contest.
(Best use of Filter or Special Effects)
As an entry into the November Contest, hosted by Dick Greenberg , I just had to take advantage of the Super Moon on November 14th. As the moon makes its elliptical orbit, the moon is the closest its been to the Earth since January 26, 1948, If you are interested in how close, it was only 221,526 miles away from the center of the Earth. (Just a little over a stones "Moon Rocks" throw away!) The moon appears bigger an brighter during a Super Moon, so I made sure I had my camera ready.
The next Super moon will be on November 25, 2034 and the closest of the Century will be December 6, 2052.
I took a photo of the moon without any filters and then used 2 other filters, while the moon was near the horizon, as the thick clouds were moving in fast. The clarity would have been better, if I could have waited until it was high in the sky, but the clouds covered my shot during that time.
