Thankful for the Mile High Sunshine - Day 4

By

Yesterday afternoon, the first official snow began falling the in the Denver Metro Area and it continued through the evening hours.

Since it has been so warm lately, the snow melted quickly on the streets until the temperatures fell considerably.  The wet slop quickly froze making the roads a virtual skating rink.  Luckily I was not out on the highways trying to maneuver from point A to B.

This morning we woke to bright sunshine and blue skies.

The ice has all melted on the roads making them safe for travel once more.

Living in the Mile High City, the intense sunshine makes quick work of the frozen roads and for that I am very thankful.

I'd be thankful for quick melting, too, Belinda. But I'm more thankful for living where I don't even have to worry about the snow 99.9% of the time!

Hi Belinda - In the last 4 years, I have had to clear my driveway only 4 times. The sunshine took care of all the rest. And it was really nice to see everything white again and some good moisture soaking into the ground.

The older I get the more I want only one season, summer, but I do remember snow as a kid as something wonderful and sleds a barrel of fun.

Snow time already!  It does look so pretty! Sunshine is a good thing to melt that snow away. I remember growing up in MN it would be cloudy and grey for months on end.  I was so happy to move to CO after college as it was so sunny and bright!

I'm working with a couple dividing their time between Denver and Annapolis, MD.  They couldn't believe the swing in weather out your way the last few days.
