Thankful for Nature and Hiking Phoenix Mountains!

By
Real Estate Agent with HomeSmart Real Estate AZ Broker BR030809000

Every day I look out over the North Phoenix Mountain Preserve and feel very thankful to live here!  Most of you know I love to hike our hills and valleys and I must have a gazillion photos from my 20+ years of hiking them - often.

This morning it was a bit chilly at 48 degrees. Ok I get it - that's a wimps version of  chilly!  I did grow up in Saint Cloud MN - ya know!! Needless to say I lingered in the house enjoying hot coffee before I 'braved' the cold. I didn't really feel like getting my boots on today but I did anyway because I knew I'd enjoy being out there once I got started. I was right! And I got my steps in for the day!

Thankful for Nature and Hiking Phoenix Mountains!

What a gorgeous Phoenix morning!  I could have gone on for hours and hours but you know how that goes, we do need to pay attention to our real estate business!  Tomorrow is another day and I'm sure I'll be up early and out hiking once again.  The weather is absolutley perfect all winter long and I am so grateful to live in Phoenix! YES!!

Thankful for Nature and Hiking Phoenix Mountains!

Anna nothing wimpy about 48 degrees, that would be considered a bit chilly here in CT as well :)

Hi Anna

We all know you LOVE to hike and what a beautiful area to do so. I always enjoy your photos - keep 'em coming! Living in SoCal I know what you mean about 48 degrees. But then I lived in Minneapolis for 2 years so I know what real cold is, too!

Have a great weekend hiking!

Jeff

Few things set the world right again quite like planting ourselves in the midst of nature for a time, Anna!  Nature provides much to be grateful for!

With scenery like that, hiking would probably become a hobby of mine too.

you reminded me of a lovely hike the Sunday before thanksgiving last year at Arches National park.  Wish I could do a hike this weekend.  Maybe the weekend after Thanksgiving.

I always enjoy your hike photos.

I have been hiking on Mondays and Fridays and I am really enjoying it.  My phone said that it was 39 degrees, but I was surprised that it didn't feel cold at all, but felt perfect.  It said it was around 60 degrees when we finished, so perhaps my phone was wrong in the beginning, haha.

You aren't a whimp.  48 is chilly in any state.  I bet it felt good though once you got your blood flowing.  Gorgeous views.

Hi Anna Banana Kruchten - I remember the first time I went hiking in the mountains of Arizona with two sisters, I thought to myself, "This is going to be easy!" I was wrong! It was a broad and difficult hike but most beautiful. We were about 1/2 way to the top when my youngest sister couldn't make it and we decided to leave her on the side of the mountain until we came down. I remember the beautiful view. It was worth the effort!

I can truly understand why you love living there in such beautiful and unusual terrain.

I didn't realize Phoenix gets that cold so early in the season. It is just beautiful there and know you love the outdoors and your hiking.

You do have a lot of natural beauty around you, and I admire you for going out on your hikes. I need to more of that. My main walks consist of doing laps around town park and visiting the Chapel of the Cross with Lucky on his leash.

Well thanks Gayle Rich-Boxman Fishhawk Lake Real Estate !  I only wish the weather was hiking weather all year long! Just looking at the photos makes me want to go back out there today but I have to hang up my hiking boots for the summer unless we go up northern AZ to hike this summer. And then of course I'd take lots of pics and share it with you all!!

AB~I have a couple who are recent owners at Fishhawk Lake who just moved from AZ to escape the heat. They have an entire clan of critters: 3 dogs, 11 cats, 25+birds and a chameleon! They had to sell their fish, as they wouldn't have made the trip.

If you feel the need to hike, try Oregon! Good in just about any weather....layer and peel!
