We all know you LOVE to hike and what a beautiful area to do so. I always enjoy your photos - keep 'em coming! Living in SoCal I know what you mean about 48 degrees. But then I lived in Minneapolis for 2 years so I know what real cold is, too!

Anna, I have always wanted to hike inthe desert areas, but my wife's knees are to bad

I too went out for a walk this morning, but I had my golf clubs with me while I walked

With scenery like that, hiking would probably become a hobby of mine too.

you reminded me of a lovely hike the Sunday before thanksgiving last year at Arches National park.  Wish I could do a hike this weekend.  Maybe the weekend after Thanksgiving.

I have been hiking on Mondays and Fridays and I am really enjoying it.  My phone said that it was 39 degrees, but I was surprised that it didn't feel cold at all, but felt perfect.  It said it was around 60 degrees when we finished, so perhaps my phone was wrong in the beginning, haha.

Hi Anna - I'm so glad you're back to hiking regularly - you have such great hiking access and I know what an important part of your life it is.

You aren't a whimp.  48 is chilly in any state.  I bet it felt good though once you got your blood flowing.  Gorgeous views.

Hi Anna Banana Kruchten - I remember the first time I went hiking in the mountains of Arizona with two sisters, I thought to myself, "This is going to be easy!" I was wrong! It was a broad and difficult hike but most beautiful. We were about 1/2 way to the top when my youngest sister couldn't make it and we decided to leave her on the side of the mountain until we came down. I remember the beautiful view. It was worth the effort! 

I can truly understand why you love living there in such beautiful and unusual terrain. 

I didn't realize Phoenix gets that cold so early in the season. It is just beautiful there and know you love the outdoors and your hiking.

Living on Kauai I say "Brrrrrrrr!" to 48 degrees! It's 73 degrees this morning at 7 am and that's our winter chill. Love your hiking photos!

 I do envy you for the desert I think it is magnificent and look at your first picture it likes like the cactus is giving someone the finger.....I hope you have had a great weekend!

You do have a lot of natural beauty around you, and I admire you for going out on your hikes. I need to more of that. My main walks consist of doing laps around town park and visiting the Chapel of the Cross with Lucky on his leash.
