Day 5 -- thankful for the joys of autumn

Real Estate Agent with Pacific Union International CA DRE# 01215160

Autumn has long been my favorite season of the year, and I'm thankful for it.

autumn leaves, Purissima OSP, CAHere in coastal California, we typically have warm, sunny days, interspersed with an occasional light rain. The sun feels gentle on the skin, not searing and burning, and the rain gives promise of renewal, as it slowly turns our golden hillsides green with fresh grass, and leaf-fall in the forests leaves a lovely mosaic of color on the trails. Vineyards turn a red, or orange or yellow, depending on the variety.

Here the color of autumn is gentle in nature, but spectacularly brilliant garden specimen trees, pumpkin fields along the coast, and gorgeous arrangements elsewhere.

Lottie Kendall - Your writing is so poetic with beautiful descriptions! I could see, taste and smell Autumn. You also painted beautiful imagines in my head and your photos were great.

Wasn't it nice of Yolanda Cordova-Gilbert to wear a color-coordinated blouse for that wonderful photo! You must have all enjoyed yourselves very much!

Hi Patricia Feager - I hadn't thought about Yolanda's blouse coordinating so well, but you're right! We had a delightful afternoon, and Gene and I also had a chance to meet Myrl Jeffcoat and Curtis Van Carter.

Hi Lottie

While summer remains my favorite I really enjoy the fall here, and the rain, when it comes, is such a joy since it's so infrequent. I love all the colored leaves and pumpkins and your photo of Yolanda and Bob is wonderful!! Such fun to meet friends from far away!

Jeff Dowler - we have rain in SF today -- delightful. Perhaps wearing my Active Rain "Let It Rain" shirt has some effect?

Hi Yolanda Cordova-Gilbert - I just love this pic of you and Bob--it epitomizes the happy time we had as Bistro Don Giovanni. Happy Thanksgiving to you both.

Lottie,  I love Autum as well. It is truly my favorite time of year.  I seem to come more alive during this time of year. That is a great photo!

Lottie- Our autumns in South Florida are similar, in that the sun isn't as piercing and the mornings are low 70s vs high 80s.  That photo of Yolanda Cordova-Gilbert and Bob would make a great Holiday Card.

I am appreciative that the West Coast is rather mild because when I lived in Connecticut one day it would be Fall the next day it was bitter cold and winter Lottie Kendall

I could get really used to that mild weather. The older I get, the colder I get. Love the photo of the Gilberts.

I feel that sense of excitement in autumn too, Kathleen Daniels - do you think it harkens back to back-to-school days when we were young?

I agree with your thoughts about a holiday card for the Giberts, Kathy Streib

I think that abrupt change from autumn to winter happened on the east coast again this year, Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, Broker, Tacoma Washington Are you getting the rainstorm that's hitting Seattle?
