Oh Thank Heaven for 7-11 - Day 5

Real Estate Broker/Owner with Aspen Lane Real Estate Colorful Colorado CRE# 40005863

This is the Day 5 Post for Debbie Reynolds 's 10 day challenge where she asks us to write about things we are thankful for.

Anyone who knows me knows that I love stopping by my local 7-11 for an afternoon (or morning or evening) Big Gulp.  Yes, I could fix myself a diet coke at home but it just isn't quite the same.

I know this is an addiction and at some point in my life I may have to seek help, but for now, I am able to handle my addiction and consume in moderation.

I am so thankful to have a fairly new 7-11 which opened only 2.2 miles from my house.  In desperate times, I could even walk to this 7-11 but I would probably have to indulge in a Double Gulp if it ever came to that.

It is so nice walking in to my favorite beverage location and have everyone know me by name.

After the usual chit chat about my day, they ask me the all important question:

I try to save my Super Gulp cups and rinse them out for refills in the store, but sometimes, you just have to go with NEW.

I love the jalapeno and cream cheese taquitos at 7-11... and their coffee.

I've gotten over my Diet Coke addiction.  It was serious years ago.  I do remember how good those Big Gulps were though.  Nowadays, a 7-11 stop is just for a bottle of water.

Belinda I totally get this one! It's just good to get out a mix with the locals! I do the same thing but at Starbucks. In fact I could use my 'fix' right now!

We no longer have a 7-11 nearby.  However, when my kids were little and we lived in a neighborhood where one existed just a few blocks away, we'd be found there buying Slurpies on hot summer days.  I miss that time!

Belinda, you have me holding my side laughing.  Calling 'Big Gulp' moderate and knowing 7-11 is not 2 but 2.2 miles from homes.  Oh my goodness girl...

LMAO,  Mark

Belinda, I think the Big Gulp is certainly part of who you are but don't overdue the diet coke.

I have no idea when I was in a 7/11!  I know where there is one.  We all have our special preferences, and if it makes you happy go for it~  A

We don't have any 7-11's in our town but remember them from my growing up years. We would go as children to by Slurpees.

Belinda, no 7-11 stores in my area.  Although, the lines are long at McDonalds and  Hardy's.

Hi Belinda -- I've never had a Coke(Diet or otherwise) addiction and my visits to 7-11 typically involve using the ATM.   And as far as addictions go, I've heard this one is a difficult for some to break.

Oh no, I don't think being addicted to soda is a good thing at all, haha.  To me it seems like smoking, almost, haha.  Luckily, when I worked at Jack in the Box while I was in high school, we got to drink all of the soda we wanted and I drank so much that I stopped liking the taste of it.  I am glad that I don't like it and don't drink it.

You are not going to believe this but the last time I was in 7-11 was in Japan because it was the closest ATM... the lady at the front desk said the closest was at the Famous 7-11 store my boys and I just looked at each other and giggled her English was not too  good but our Japanese is nonexistent

Hi Belinda Spillman ,  Some people go to the Cheers Bar, where everyone knows your name.  You go to 7 - 11...

Hi Belinda... your post really made me laugh! Girl, I think you need an intervention! Although I also know quite a few people with the same relationship with their Starbucks! I'll let you in on a little secret--I've never stepped foot into a 7-11 and I've never had a big gulp. Maybe I'm the one who needs an intervention?
