What The Heck Is Going On?????

By
Real Estate Sales Representative with Split Rock Fine Homes

I get up early to sort through my emails then do this several times a day.  This has become a big part of how we are doing our business every day.  What is amazing to me is how each day I'm receiving more and more emails on how to jump on the bandwagon to join these foreclosure, REO and marketing gurus   every day.  Where are all these guys popping up from?????

Real Estate is just back to the basis and you have to work your tail off the make in this business today.  You have to work the long days that often carry over into the evenings and our family time.  I guess I just get tired of the few or should I say many at this time that are trying to get into our pocket books for our hard earned dollars.  Yes, I have to admit I have come across a few good coaching programs that do not cost an arm and a leg.  Actually they get you focused and help you stay on course during this very difficult market.  But for the most part I tired of all the other stuff that is coming around to look for an easy buck from us to give us that magic ball to make all our dreams come true.

It's back to the old basic of follow up & follow through. Any thoughts on this please send them along!!!!!

Debbie:  You are so right but working long days which carry over into the evenings and almost every single holiday is nothing new for me.  Anyone who thinks real estate is easy come, easy go is grossly mistaken.  Always, the basics seem to never fail, that's the one constant in an industry subjective to cycles and changes.

Debbie, I'm getting increasingly tired of all the solicitation calls I get on my cell phone.  It's getting so that I'm reluctant to pick up the phone if I see that it's coming from a non-local area code.  At least the emails can be ignored...

The amount of emails I get a day is nuts.  I am sure it is happening in other industries.  The phone calls are getting to be a huge annoyance as well.  I do not think an email or phone call is going to magically change my income but I am certain it will change my outgo!

Debbie, those that can't do teach is the lesson here sell a book about selling because you can't sell. Offer a class on-line about foreclosures because people will sign up for it, and the author will make money on the seminar. Just wrote a Joke blog about this very thing "my book on how to make 2 million dollars in real estate" funny responses.. Steve

Debbie,  REO and BPO work is in abundance right now but from my experience, there are probably at least 30 or 40 REO/BPO companies out there that you can sign up with and not pay to do so.  In my opinion, these companies that call and try to sell you their BPO lists and to put you on the list etc are filling the niche that lead generation companies do...for the agent who won't do lead generation, they worked for a while and for the agent looking to capitalize on REO work, they may work as well.  I'd personally stay away from them because the legit companies are paying YOU to do BPO/REO work for them, not the other way around!

Amen to everything you said, Sister!  It's a constant battle to hang on to our money and filter out the junk emails and work our heads off from sun up to sun down every day to make it work with the basics.  I'm not complaining though; I love selling real estate in spite of it all...see my blog on "I love selling real estate".

Me too I absolutely love the business and can't see myself doing anything else.  I really feel sorry for the people that have just come into the business the last year or so.  I don't think that they realized how tough the business really is.  It's not just show a property write a contract and go to the bank or take a listing hang a sign and put a lockbox on and have a ton of showings.  I guess it's my frustration of working with the "newbie" out there and carrying both side to get it done.  Well happy sell to all of you guy and gals out there!!!!

The scammers are just going after the folks whose homes are in trouble, but the Realtors wanting a piece of the REO actions as well.
