It is the season for being thankful and giving to others tops many of our lists. There are so many things you can do to participate in the giving to others. There are small things that can you do every day, there are charities to donate monetarily to and charities to donate your time and efforts to make a successful event. I appreciate Belinda Spillman for offering a contest here in Active Rain to highlight what is being done across the country to Pay It Forward. I have been getting some new ideas for next year.
Our NW Coldwell Banker Office participates in many good causes as a group effort throughout the year, but our commitment to the American Cancer Society is truly amazing and remains steadfast and loyal.
Unfortunately we’ve had several agents who were struck by this dreaded disease and some lost the battle and are dearly missed. These losses spurred us on to Pay it Forward and fight to find a cure so others would not have to endure the pain and suffering and families would not have to lose their love ones. Even our Austin President has undergone four bouts with four different cancers and is cancer free now! An agent in our office has fiercely fought two cancers in the last three years and is a role model for all of us with her exuberant zest for life. My Administrative Assistant is a cancer survivor and I thank every day she continues to be cancer free.
Since July 1, 2005 our NW office has donated $80,890.92. This year we are still accumulating donations from events we sponsored and the generosity of agents, vendors and clients. It’s an ongoing spirit we keep alive….Paying it Forward to find the cure for this horrific disease that takes so many lives.
