Gratitude - The Ability to Travel
I grew up with the most amazing father - he was most definitely a workaholic (no, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!) but, the time spent with us was QUALITY time! There were no cell phone distractions, no computers or social media - just what you had in front of you. We were focused on family, friendships and life.
My father always enjoyed travel. I was the oldest so, it didn’t take my father long to turn me into a tomboy! He took me fishing, camping and we toured all of the southern and midwestern states during my childhood. We went EVERYWHERE! I learned to water ski at the age of 8 in a lake that we traveled to that is located very close to where I live now! Those were the days - no stress, no distractions and tons of fun just traveling and enjoying each others company!
After college, I did very little traveling. It wasn’t until Ray and I met that I resumed traveling. We quickly learned that being handicapped and traveling has some challenges but, we have overcome them after 20 years of being creative with vacations!
You may not be a ‘cruise’ fan but, we have found those to be the most accessible vacations for us. We have been to Cabo, Hawaii, the Caribbean (several times), France, Italy and soon will be going to Panama. The Mediterranean cruise was spectacular and I expect this upcoming one to be even better! We’ve traveled with friends, family and alone - and loved every one of our vacations.
Seeing the world is a blessing that I enjoy every chance I get - I plan to see all of the continents at some point! I am so thankful for the opportunity to travel and the memories that I cherish from each wonderful venue which I have visited.
