Christmas is coming & your on the market! Staging in Burlington

The Holiday Season is approaching fast and your house is on the market.

Do you have to forget decorating this year? After all, the Staging shows say the house has to be neutral and decluttered.

The answer is definitely NOT!

Help the Buyers imagine spending Christmas in your home next year. The secret is to follow the basics of Staging while you decorate.

Keep it simple Seller!

Avoid Clutter > Take away a piece of your normal decor before adding a piece of Christmas decor.

Use fewer pieces than last year. If the items are small, group them close together to make a visual "1".

Maintain good traffic flow > Rooms still need to open up as the buyer steps into them. Make sure you don't block the way with a larger piece.

Wait before adding your tree > Christmas trees tend to eat up a lot of floor space. This means they are often in awkward locations in a room and the room feels smaller. Your tree should be one of the last items you put up.

Don't put gifts under the tree > Although unlikely to happen, there is always a risk of loss.

Give the Buyer that feeling of 'coming home for Christmas'. That emotional tug will help them bond and buy.

My advice is also to keep it simple. The more the decorating is "seasonal"rather than holiday specific, the better. The key is removing immediately after the holiday has passed.

Yes, Sharon Tara , Sellers should definitely take down the decor ASAP after the holiday.
