Recently, we shared some fun, but uncommon activities that are perfect for snowbirds in SWFL. They are also good for anyone living or owning a home in Southwest Florida. As a real estate agent, I’ve enjoyed many years of sharing our amenities with newcomers and longtime residents alike. Sure, a big part of buying a home is looking at properties and comparing prices. But really, it’s also about connecting you to the community, and I love to do that too. So with the snowbird season upon us, I wanted to share a few more lesser-known activities to ensure you love living in SWFL.
Volunteering at One of Our Southwest Florida Parks
It’s a little-known secret that the outdoors in SWFL is absolutely amazing. From great sports fishing to backcountry camping, we seem to have it all. Few people know that you can also volunteer at many of our parks, from the urban ones to the rugged ones. This activity is great for enjoying all that beautiful sunshine we get.
Enjoying an Afternoon Picnic by the Water
Speaking of beautiful weather, why not have a picnic near the surf? We have some excellent piers right on the water, and they also have areas that are perfect for enjoying a snack with some friends.
Attending a Museum Lecture
Another well-kept SWFL secret is that we have some truly world-class art throughout the state. Many of the museums hold lectures and other events that are enjoyable. You get to meet some new people and expand your mind!
Visiting Our Historic Southwest Florida Homes
You’ve probably seen our posts on some of the lovely historic homes in here. Many of them fly right under the radar, but are filled with stories of how our area came to be. They’re well worth a visit or two.
Building a Sandcastle on the Beach
Whether you take the grand kids or decide to go solo, you’ll love how young you feel when you’re out at our beaches. Building a sandcastle is a good way to capture that youthful spirit while enjoying our world-class beaches.
Sip Homemade Sangria on the Porch
Finally, our last activity is as simple as it is pleasant. Once you own a home in Southwest Florida, as a snowbird, you want to appreciate every moment of it. What better way than making delicious homemade sangria on the porch of your home?
Need a sangria recipe or maybe a beach or two to visit …or are you still considering buying a home in Southwest Florida? No matter what your situation, let’s talk!
