This contest is about an opportunity for us to get it right the second time and I think that this is the right time for this contest since most if not all of us should be working on our business plans for 2017. Earlier this week I wrote a blog on WORKING ON YOUR ANNUAL GOALS REVIEW FOR 2017. If you want ideas on how to create a plan you can read that blog.
Our business plans are usually breathing things and we change them as we go. No sense sticking with something that is not working.
But wait a minute—not so fast. Should a part of our business plan be thrown out just because it didn’t work last time? For example, if you were training for the Olympics and didn’t qualify the first time would you quit? No, because it was a worthy goal and you could make it the next time. There is something to the statement, “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again!”
And so it is with your business plan and your career. This is the purpose of this Active Rain Contest and your challenge follows:
Tell us about a business goal or action that didn’t work out and how you did it over correctly the second time.
Tell us about your mistakes and challenges and how you eliminated them the second time.
Tell us about a major mistake you made in your business or your career but how you were able to do it over with a winning outcome.
Tell us if this is something that could have been fatal. How did you feel? What steps did you take for not only damage control but how you totally turned the failure around?
You can’t think of a business or career event but you have a life event you got to do over.
Give us the details of what happened and how you did it over.
Here are the contest rules:
- Your entry must be minimum of 300 words.

Sharing your experiences is always a value to this community. I know we will get some great ideas to help all of us.
