Quiet Hidden Cabin, Fall Hall Glen, Jackson County Wisconsin

One of the joys of my profession is the little hidden gems we find when we least expect them.

This cabin is one of those gems that I discovered by accident one day while checking on a few projects that some of my Foresters were working on.

It was refreshing when I fought my way through the brush and came across this lovely creek with this hidden cabin, and the scene spoke to me somehow.

This photo has been spending time ever since that day as the profile photo on our WMS Facebook page.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Btw, this is an entry in Dick Greenberg ’s photo contest in the Real Life/ travel and places category.

Great photo, there's so much untouched beauty out in nature. I bet it was fun hiking in the woods & stumbling upon this. It reminds me of a Bob Ross painting.

While I tend to enjoy leisure time at an ocean beach somewhere, I could spend a month in that cabin and think I was in heaven!

Great picture, Bob - it looks like a wonderful place to take a break during a long work day out in the woods.

You're right, it is always great to find interesting spots in the woods, especially the ones where you can take a little break and enjoy the area.

It looks very nice wondering how far off the main it is... pretty clear there are no drive up to the cabin.
