Late for an appointment: what do you do ??

Real Estate Agent with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices 01238708

I was traveling from point A to point B and then discovered that the road was shrunk from three lanes to one. Under normal circumstances I would have been stressed and frustrated that I am late for a meeting. In case you are wondering POINT A is in Los Angeles and POINT B is also in Los Angeles less than 10 miles apart.

Now when I saw this Billboard as I was siting at a Red Light, I cracked up laughing and smiling. Needless to say when I got to my appointment I had to show my client the picture I took. She cracked up laughing too and we were all on the same page.

SO if you are late for an appointment you better have a good excuse or one great picture to break the ice. Just for the record I am seldom late for any meetings. That is my training from my father and it was reinforced by being in the military:)). I usually call or text that I am running late which is seldom.

Hi Endre -- love the sign --- and if it's where I think it is located, you weren't far from the See's Candies headquarters...

Endre that is a fabulous photo!  Rarely have I been late but I just happened to be this morning for my 2nd meeting - due to traffic down to one lane.  I simply called and said - running late see you ASAP. They were just fine!

I don't patronize their franchise not so much for their politics but the misspelling drives me crazy and makes me wonder what kids think of it.

What a great sign! Somebody was very creative and the boss loved it enough to have it advertised! There are days, you just have to laugh and that one broke the ice!

Endre, Traffic problems in LA are a valid excuse for being late. Everyone knows anout the terrible traffic issues which show up in a drop of a aht. I try to follow your example and never be late. Stuff happens. Your picture idea was an excellent one..

Hi Endre

Chick-fil-A does not great signage and they are all over. But I still think, as you said, that a call is essential. Stuff happens.

Having been in LA many times I get the issue of the traffic and how it can really ruin your day without warning sometimes. Even when you allow more than enough time.

Traffic in my town is getting horrific and one thing i am going to work on in the new year is leaving earlier and arriving earlier.

Oh, there is nothing worse, is there - especially for a FIRST meeting!  I've had that happen once or twice and I phone them when I realize that traffic is not going to cooperate with my time-line!  LOVE the sign, Endre Barath, Jr. - what a great icebreaker!

Part of the joy of living here is that...of course...except during construction season...the whole world is 20 minutes away from anywhere else...You handled the situation humor...often the best remedy.

I won't go to an appointment unless I have a phone number.  If I'm running late, I will phone and explain.  I could take the picture if we had that fast food chain in our area.

Donald Kolenda  for being one of the few who has never been to Hawaii, I will have to take your word... 20+ years ago the joke in Los Angeles was everything is 45 min away... now everything is about 1hr 15 min away:))Endre

I'm with you Endre about punctuality.  I would rather be 15 minutes early waiting for my clients than the reverse.  However, in those few times when unforeseen circumstances occur, like traffic jams, I call ahead to let them know I'll be late.

Endre Barath, Jr. - In California, I'm so used to getting ready for a meeting about an hour out, and forget that here in Honolulu. Here, everything is, like, 10 minutes away--another 5 if in traffic.
