Is Your Website Lemon Fresh?

Fresh content on your website will help increase your viewership and get more attraction from the spiders. There are many things you can do to drive more traffic and possibly get better SEO ranking for your website. Most people don't understand that websites are not a "set it and forget it" project.

When was the last time you updated anything other than a listing on your website? If you are like most of us, it's probably been a while.

What Is the Importance of Keeping Your Content Fresh?

Fresh content attracts the spiders to your site to crawl new content.

While there are arguments to either side that keeping content fresh will increase your rank on Google, it just can't hurt. The home page of most websites are often the most ignored. This can be a mistake. Home pages can drive a lot of traffic.

Adding an article regularly to your website will keep that lemony freshness, which is why a blog is very useful. Adding actual and functional information to your website will give Google the idea that your website is alive. If it is not an active website, Google will crawl it less often and it might become less appealing to Google to include the page in the search results.

Next to that, make sure you keep your cornerstone content up-to-date.

Your cornerstone content is like an anchor for your website. It is the foundation that keeps your website noticed.Cornerstone Content is why people come to your website. Cornerstone content is what your website is about . It's about giving visitors the essential information about how you can help them, and why you perfectly meet their needs. I’m betting you would want to explain that in the most compelling fashion you can. Basically, this is what Google is looking for from your website. Your cornerstone is like an anchor for your website.

Here are 5 Tips to Building Quality Cornerstone Content

Keywords. You hear this one over and over again. Choose the most appropriate keyword phrase for your content. In other words, do you provide the answers to the relevant questions that visitors will be asking?

Title Tags and Headline

There is very little dispute about the importance of using your keyword phrase in your Title Tag. But it is just as important to reaching out to your readers.

Well, of course Content is important. If your website has longevity and authority on Google, a 500 word article may still rank well with the right content. One option to creating "keyword phrase" content is to create a multi-segment tutorial or article about your topic. You will get better return traffic this way.

SEO Landing Page

A landing page is designed to easily communicate what the page is about the minute the visitor arrives. It also acts somewhat like a table of contents by utilizing links to various parts of your website.

The benefits of using a landing page include visitor retention, bookmarking, incoming links, optimization.

Related Content

Of course your website and blog should go hand in hand when creating this strategy. Search engines like websites that are frequently updated with lemony fress relevant content.

Focus on creating quality, relevant content as often as you have time. Remember you can always write and schedule your posts to cut back on the amount of time you spend each day creating lemony fresh content.

So get out and squeeze that lemon on your website.
Freshen it up and see results.

Thank you for these tips Kathy.  SEO has always been a mystery to me.  I definitely update my blog regularly but some of the other things you mentioned, not so much.  Best wishes.

My blog has become so much more important to me than my website.  In fact, the websites I advertise are my blogs, simply for the reason of fresh content.

In the ever-changing world of real estate, updating is vitally important. And, if you've quoted surveys or studies, it's important to go back and get the latest so you're not talking about a 2010 survey in 2017!

It would be nice to have them on your home page Foster Smith Summerville. And, if you have a wordpress or magento blog, they have plugins to do that automatically for you. I could take a look if you like.

Be careful, however, as seo experts will say that you shouldn't duplicate your content or possibly receive a snap on the hand. But, unless you have time to spin your blog post for every location you post it, it's probably not worth the time to rewrite for every platform.

Nice article, Kathy Goldman .  It is next to impossible to figure out how to keep up with google, however.  We work daily on this, and cannot figure out how others get ahead of us. But fresh content is something we do all the time. It can't hurt!
