2nd Try With a Shift in Thinking and Focus
I must admit that '2nd Try' is far from accurate yet all the previous efforts were all the same with just different numbers, or numbers in different areas.
After years in Real Estate and being bombarded with #s, how many calls to make, how much to make each month for the year end, and the #s list can go on and on. Problem was I was like the preverbial fly that kept knocking itself on the window to get out.
Last year I completely stepped back and took a very close look. What I saw was someone I was not very happy with. I had moved away from who I am. I felt my focus need change to be happy with myself again.
Rather than numbers and dollars I chose to form new habits that would help get me to a point that I was satisfied looking myself in the mirror again. A successful habit being formed after 66 days and more importantly maintained after that. I found it a tougher task maintaining than creating.
I have fallen very short of the number of habits I thought I would be able to create and maintain. A pleasant surprise was seeing that in most habits I formed and maintained a side benefit, or unplanned habit, seemed to fall in stride. I am pleased with my personal growth this year.
My sales are over last year nominally which is OK. More important I finish this year knowing I am more 'solid' and 'confident' than I have been in a long while. I am at peace within and actually looking forward to the challenges of 2017.
I will be much more focused on what it takes to 'create and maintain' in order to keep improving myself and that will relate to a healthier business as well.
This years success came not from trying any harder but in focusing on something more important to me. With the personal and business successes due to that shift in thinking I am looking forward to 2017.
