Differences Between Resorts and a Hawaii House

Real Estate Agent with Lyon Real Estate BRE #00697006

My poor fingers are scraped up and a little painful this morning from pulling apart those Alaskan king crab legs last night. When a waiter serves crab at a luxury resort in Hawaii, the legs are already sliced and the prickly parts sanded down. Sometimes, they serve crab legs cut in half so all the diner needs to do is deftly slip the crab out of its shell with a fish fork.

But I am definitely roughing it here in Hawaii. For starters, I had to go grocery shopping yesterday, an activity I almost never engage in back in Sacramento. Well, I suspected this trip would be somewhat different than previous December vacations. You can read more in my personal blog today at this link: December in Hawaii Means Fending for Oneself.

Elizabeth Weintraub Sacramento Real Estate Agent, Top 1% of Lyon Agents - I can't wait to read more about you working your fingers to the bone at your beautiful oceanview home on the Big Island of Hawaii. And your grocery list sounds intriguing.

If one has to work their fingers to the bone, some great looking crab legs seems like a good place to do it, Elizabeth!

Oddly enough, one of my favorite activities is grocery shopping - Especially when I'm famished, which you aren't supposed to do!

Aloha, Elizabeth --- maybe you can find a housekeeper to help you out for the time you're "roughing it".   Enjoy!

I imagine the fact that the groceries are brought to the island by freighter or airplane adds a lot of cost to your bottom line grocery bill...kind of like living in Alaska.   While you are definitely on your own there, you are in a fantastic location.

I would imagine lots of differences between those two and Hawaii seems to be changing so very fast in recent years.
