Welcome in the holidays in Virginia-Highland for the 22nd Annual Virginia-Highland Tour of Homes! Enjoy a festive 2-day event of beautiful architecture and interior design in one of Atlanta’s most charming neighborhoods. Known for its historic residences, unique shops and fabulous local restaurants, the 22nd Annual Virginia-Highland Tour of Homes is the perfect way to spend the day and spread holiday cheer!
Eight beautiful properties will be featured on this year’s tour. Although different in style and design, they are all equally representative of the Neighborhood’s character. This year’s line-up includes a custom modern home with beautiful gardens and rooftop deck, a recently renovated California-style bungalow, a charming 1925 cottage with recent updates, a classic 1917 bungalow with beautiful indoor and outdoor living spaces, and a quintessential 1909 bungalow in which a recent renovation both restored original features and created modern living spaces for the current owners. The tour includes three other fabulous historic homes transformed for the modern world.
Local restaurants will provide food tastings at each of the Tour homes. Local favorites, such as Highland Tap, Atkins Park, The Cook’s Warehouse, Fontaine’s, and Marlow’s Tavern, will once again serve up delicious bites. We are thrilled to have the following restaurants new to the tour join in 2016: Highland Bakery, Press ‘n Grind, Taco Cowboy, Tapa Tapa, Après Diem, Pea Ridge and DBA Barbecue.

The Virginia-Highland Tour of Homes began in 1972 with the first “Virginia-Highland Bungalow Tour”. Since then, home tours were held through 1977 and again in 1980-1982 (featuring 10-14 homes each year). The focus of these Tours was on “bungalows” and it was more of a local community event.
The event was re-vitalized in 2004 with the current “Homes for the Holidays” Tour that has become a citywide celebration of the neighborhood. Virginia Highland has become a focal point of Atlanta, drawing many to its rich but unassuming architecture; its cultural events such as the Summerfest Arts Festival; its numerous high quality restaurants and shops; and its love of involvement. If ever there was a vibrant and eclectic community that is “involved” in its surroundings, Virginia-Highland is it!
