Carlsbad Village Night of Lights
Debbie Laity invited us to share our home for the holidays in her December 2016 contest, with the option to share our personal home, if desired, or some other holiday theme, including either 2 photos or a video.
Carlsbad Village and the Carlsbad Village Faire, a popular shopping area in the heart of the Village, are festively decorated for the holidays and the wide range of retailers affords abundant shopping possibilities for the holiday season.

Our Carlsbad Village holiday events began this past Saturday December 3rd with the inaugural Carlsbad Village Night of Lights.
So of course I had to check it out. Here’s my video in the heart of town where all the action was.
The Carlsbad High School Jazz Band and Orchestra was there at the Choice Juicery with a wide range of music selections to get everyone in the holiday spirit - some of the better music came after my video ended! And the McDonald Quartet was down the street with their own holiday music program. All the area retailers had specials as well as treats and beverages, and beautifully decorated store windows were in abundance along the main streets in the Village.
The festivities started at 6 pm so it was pretty dark, as you can tell in the video and photos.
There were lots of people around in restaurants, in the stores and on the streets, and parking was a premium. I behaved myself and didn’t do any shopping, but based on everything I saw I’d say the inaugural Carlsbad Village Night of Lights met everyone’s expectations for fun, beautiful decorations and lights all over town, holiday music, and shopping.
