Holiday tree lighting at MauiWine in Ulupalakua

Wondering what to do this weekend on Maui to get in the Christmas spirit? 

December 10th is the date for the 3rd annual holiday tree lighting ceremony at MauiWine in Ulupalakua.  Formerly known as Tedeschi Winery, this tourist attraction is located at 14815 Piilani Highway on Ulupalakua Ranch.  Call them at (808) 878-6058 for more details.

Bring the whole family to this cooler Upcountry location for a fun time.  It's a free event, but please bring some canned or packaged food to donate to the Maui Food Bank.  Hot drinks and holiday food will be for sale at the Ulupalakua Ranch Store & Grill. 

Holiday Tree Lighting at MauiWine

Find a home for sale in Kula Maui.The event starts at 4:30, and after dark the tree lighting begins.  Bring your blankets and beach chairs to stay and watch a screening of the holiday favorite Home Alone in the outdoor pavillion.  Santa will be there for photos in front of the tree, and there will be holiday games and live music from the Haiku Hillbillies.  You might also enjoy a sparkling toast and wine tasting inside the historical King's Cottage...  Cheers!

We finally got our tree up and the city also had an Oak Tree lighting ceremony. It is a huge oak tree many years old maybe almost a 100. Each branch is wrapped with white lights and it is just beautiful.

Must have been a wonerful tree lighting event Georgie.

Having grown up in SE PA and then spending a few years in Souther Cal, I always had a hard time getting in the spirit of the season without the cold weather...but then again I guess I just did not live there long enough!!
