Last night, I looked out the window of my office to see the moon coming up in a sky full of pink clouds. So I grabbed my favorite camera, a Sony mirrorless with interchangeable lenses, and I headed for the front yard. On my way out the door, I grabbed my iPhone (I was expecting a call).
Here is the photo I took with my Sony:
When I looked at it, I thought that it would make a nice Friday Foto shot with a little help from my favorite editor. But before I moved, I pulled my iPhone 7S out of my pocket, and from the same spot, shot a second picture:
And oh, my! No photo editor needed for this one! This is the sky I was looking at.
The Sony is, of course, a different kind of camera with some features of its own - mostly the interchangeable lenses. There is one that is a paparazzi lens and another very wide angle lens for interior shots.
But wait! The iPhone 7S is my vade mecum anyway! And it takes my calls and a bunch of other things. Oh! and it weighs a couple of ounces! So these
So these days, unless I'm actually going to use any of the fancy lenses, the fancy cam may just stay home! Of course, I'll take it to Paris for those across town shots of Sacre Coeur or the Eiffel Tower! But I might even back those up with my iPhone!
