Speechless Sunday: Capitol Dome

By
Real Estate Agent with Redfin AB95346

The Capitol dome has spent the last year or so dressed in scaffolding, as workers completed an overdue restoration to repair roof damage. For a while, anyone standing inside the Capitol  under the dome  risked getting dripped on.  The idea was to have it done in time for the inauguration, and they made it!

Hi Pat -- I like the contrast in colors of the dome and the sky.   Nicely captured.

James, now if you can get inside the Capitol building, you won't have to worry about it falling on your head!

Now all will have to wait to see what 'The Donald' decides to use to replace the figure at the top

Looks like they made it just in time and you caught it on a gorgeous day - I think this is the most perfect picture I've ever seen of the Capitol dome, Patricia Kennedy!

Yolanda, I think the people who live in Washington appreciate being able to see the dome without it's pajamas on!

Debe, skies like this aren't that common here in the winter.  It's been mostly overcast this week.

It looks beautiful, Patricia. I'm glad it's done. As much time as I've spent in DC, I can't believe I've never stood under the dome.

Patricia, I miss seeing all the great architectural buildings in DC. This is a beautiful shot of the Dome. I use to work in the Rayburn building in the early 70s.

Debbie, I'm not sure that citizens can walk into the Capitol Building unless they have their congressman or Senator arrange the visit.

Chris Ann, I love to see it looking good any time.  For a class trip for kids from Minnesota, it should look great!
