Wordless Wednesday - It Comes and Goes

Looks like an italian grotto in Capri...I remember going through there thinking it was one of the most peaceful places on earth, Joanna. Thank you for bringing back a great memory!

The blue grotto? Capri - What a great spot and I loved the boat rower serenading his passengers too! Have a great day !!

Good morning Joanna,
Looks safe in a boat but not to be swimming especially when the tides are changing.
Make yourself an astonishing day.
Good morning Joanna Cohlan ,
Lovely grotto but I'm not sure it is in Capri..let us know where you captured this magical photo..love the color of the water..your title is perfect as always!
Good morning, Joanna... that is quite a sight! Love it. Is it Capri (one of my favorite places in the universe)?
Good morning, Joanna -- another beautifully captured image -- I like the light, the colors as well as the movement of the water. Definitely frame-worthy.
The winner is Dorie Dillard - no it is not Capri-it is in Northern Israel, Rosh Hanikra, where Alexander the Great entered and and exited the Holy Land!!! Dorie, you are my fellow traveler!
Good morning Ginny Gorman and Maria Sapio and Nina Hollander - I have been to Capri and it too is beautiful and on the Mediterranean, just like Rosh Hanikra so you were definitely close.

Good morning Raymond E. Camp and Michael Jacobs - honestly, this was one of the most beautiful places I have been and yes, you can actually swim here. Many years ago I did, because the water was warm in the summer but this photo was taken in the winter months.

Joanna,
I could tell it was not the blue grotto, and I knew it definitely was somewhere in the Mediterranean! How fun to know that Alexander the Great used it as an entrance and exit. Now, I have another place to visit on my growing to do list. A

Now that the mystery is over is also reminds me of somewhere I traveled as well...in my distant past, but it wasn't Israel. Larry wants to go there someday, so we have now added that and Australia to our ever-growing list.
Good morning Joanna. I would love to see that in person however, my wife won't have any of it.
Ron and Alexandra Seigel this is called Rosh Hanikra and it is only 8 miles from the Lebanese border!
It is for sure Kathleen Daniels - the tide comes in and the tide goes out!
The water is definitely that color Beth Atalay - a brilliant turquoise blue.
What is with your wife James Dray ? You seem to want to be a world traveler and she seems to want to sit on your front porch?
Good afternoon Gayle Rich-Boxman Fishhawk Lake Realtor (503)755-2905 - looks like that list of yours keeps getting longer. I must say that the flight to Israel is a lot shorter than the flight to Sydney! But maybe not so true from the left coast!

She loves to travel it's the heights and she claustrophobic to boot. It makes for interesting for travel. Besides she can't swim so getting her into the water is another feat...
If Larry was a great traveller, we would be skipping the light fantastic and I would give you a run for your money...but, alas, it's going to be somewhat of a short list. He wants to go to AK, and I would love to go--got a cruise line that is SMALL (we hate cruises), and I have two great ladies in my Eat&Read group who've been on it and they rave about it. I'm going to Europe with my sis in two years or so. Did I tell you that we're buying a cabin at Fishhawk Lake? Hmmmm....a place for my out-of-state friends to stay, soon....![]()
Joanna late to the party as always:)) now with that said I can confirm and support you that it is not Capri, the Grotto entrance is bigger and and from where the photo is taken it would be dark on the other side:)) Endre
I'm glad you broke the silence and revealed where this picture was taken, in "Northern Israel, Rosh Hanikra, where Alexander the Great entered and exited the Holy Land!" That's an epic adventure and
That's an epic adventure and great moment in history! Thank you for sharing this photograph and telling us what it is.
Hi James Dray - you need to find a travel buddy!
Sounds like you have a lot of great things planned girlfriend Gayle Rich-Boxman Fishhawk Lake Realtor (503)755-2905 - got your beautiful card btw, and so excited for you to build your dream cabin. As for Alaska, I would also love to go before everything melts. Going to London for my birthday in January for a week-love that city-and to Japan in February. Feeling a bit better but lots of shoulder pain-physical therapy galore!
Hey there Endre Barath, Jr. and Patricia Feager - there is no shortage of incredible stories of exploration by the Phoenicians, Greeks and Romans in the Mediterranean. I always love to share the history.
All exciting stuff, my dear GF. My niece and nephew just got back from studying this last semester in London and every weekend they went somewhere different. Prague, Paris, Lisbon (I believe), and spent their 21st b-days (they are twins) in Italy! Damn, are they lucky or what? I have been wondering about how your body is doing. A phone call will be coming soon as I want to catch up BADLY! And actually, we are buying an existing cabin.

So pretty Joanna. I love learning about your travels past and the plans you have for the future destinations.
OK great Gayle Rich-Boxman Fishhawk Lake Realtor (503)755-2905 - my body offering some challenges but I am working on them-lots of physical therapy and pool work! If we don't speak before the holiday, wishing you a wonderful one!
Hey there Debbie Reynolds - thank you for stopping by-wishing you and your family a wonderful season-I know you love to travel as well and look forward to getting some tips from you too!
