#1. THE OUTDOORS
It’s obvious why the outdoors are the #1 reason to move to Montana. Because, well, Montana has it all. World-class fishing, skiing, endless backcountry to explore, hunting, ice climbing, rafting, mountain biking, kayaking…the list goes on, and on, and on. Here in Montana, there is no need for a long roadtrip or a several hundred-mile drive to get to the mountains or the rivers. Nope, for most Montanans, all this is right out the back door.
#2. THE BIG SKY
If you’ve been lucky enough look up at a Montana night sky, you will know exactly what we are talking about. It’s not just the exceptionally bright stars, it’s the incredible Montana sunsets, and sunrises. It’s a bluebird day in December, or a clear view for miles from the top of a peak. Big Sky Country is reason enough.
#3. THE PEOPLE
Montanans are cool people. Not only do they hunt, ski, fish and climb, they are also incredibly kind. They say you’ll never be stranded on a road for long in Montana as there are so many people willing to help. In Montana, people make eye contact when passing on the street, they strike up conversations with locals and it’s only a matter of time before the people at your grocery store know you by name.
#4. THE CULTURE
One wouldn’t think that a small town in Montana would offer one of the world’s finest research and history museums. But, surprisingly, this is the case. Aside from the highly-acclaimed Museum of the Rockies, you will find an impressive symphony, thriving dance scene and so many talented local artists – you won’t be able to keep track of them all!
#5. WILDLIFE
It’s not uncommon to find deer, a herd of elk, or the occasional bear wandering through a Montana neighborhood. Just last weekend we passed a group of Big Horn Sheep while driving through the canyon. Aside from neighborhood wildlife watching, there are also plenty of opportunities to observe wildlife in their natural habitat. Just head to the backcountry!
