Everyone has heard that it is more difficult to sell your home in the winter than the summer months.  Well that may be the case in some years but what people fail to take into account is market trends for areas.

Well this year if you are in Denton County Texas, that includes Lewsiville, Flower mound Carrollton, Highland Village it may just be one of those years where the trends are making it a good time to sell.

Check out the trends

Breaking this down shows last year

In June 2015 an average house was on market for 35 days, but in December of the same year the average house on market was only 25 days. Last year there was a huge advantage to selling in the winter verse the summer.

This year the trend is promising as well. June of 2016 the average house was on the market for 11 days as of November of this year we the average house is only on the market for 19 days. It's not as good as last year but is only a 8 days span longer. Now keep in mind this is only 8 days longer and there are also fewer homes on the market so the chances of you getting multiple offers for your move in ready home are much better than you would imagine.

In addition to the market factors buyers that are looking to purchase homes in the winter time are typically more seriouse buyers.  Given it is more inconvient to leave the house during the holiday season people are less prone to tire kick and agents are typically more strict about making sure the buyers are qualified before spending time away from their families.

So if you are thinking about selling your home don't discount winter months. There is a huge opporutnity to get the job done with less hassle and time on market than you imagined.
