Ruby Tuesday...

By
Real Estate Agent with David Tracy Real Estate #555994

I had nothing to post about today as I am spent and can not think stright. So I Googled Tuesday for inspiration and Ruby Tuesday came up. Checking with Wikipedia here is what they had to say:

" According to Keith Richards in a 1971 Rolling Stone interview, he wrote the song in a Los Angeles hotel room in early 1966 about a groupie he knew;[3] he has also stated that it was about Linda Keith, his girlfriend in the mid-1960s.[4] The song's lyrics concern an apparently free-spirited woman, with Jagger singing:

"Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Still I'm gonna miss you."[5]

"That's a wonderful song," Mick Jagger told Jann Wenner in 1995. "It's just a nice melody, really. And a lovely lyric. Neither of which I wrote, but I always enjoy singing it."[6]Bill Wyman states in Rolling with the Stones that the lyrics were completely written by Keith Richards with help from Brian Jones on the musical composition.[page needed]However, Marianne Faithfull recalls it differently; according to her, Brian Jones presented an early version of this melody to the rest of the Rolling Stones.[7] According to Victor Bockris, Richards came up with the basic track and the words and finished the song with Jones in the studio.[8]

From Richards's autobiography, Life, the song was written about his girlfriend Linda Keith. Linda had taken up with Jimi Hendrix, and had got involved with drugs. She left Richards, and he tried to get her back. He eventually went to her parents and told them she was going down a dark path. Linda's father went to New York City to collect her, and by order of court she was grounded. Richards reports that Linda regarded this as a betrayal, and they did not speak again for many years. According to Richards's autobiography, Linda Keith survived, brought up a family, and now lives in New Orleans.[9] "

Funny how live takes us down certain paths. I hope she forgave him in the end and became friends.

Enjoy the song provided by You Tube and The Rolling Stones

Yeah, I thought it was interesting too. I never read much on any stars of any sort. However, I did once hear that Jimi Hendrix's lawyer and another person had him killed for the insurance policy. I don't know if that is true or not; but it was interesting.

When I saw the title I immediately thought about the restaurant by that name. This is a blast from the past and didn't know the backgound at all.

Ruby Tuesday is one of my son's favorite restaurants.  He came in touch with them when he was stationed various places while in the Navy.

I have never eaten there. I wonder what type of food they serve and if there is one in the NASA area or in Houston. I may go and try it if there is.

Sussie Sutton - I enjoyed reading your post. Sometimes all you need is a little inspiration to start the day and Ruby Tuesday was a good way to spark your imagination. Of course, I listened to The Rolling Stones and other artists on the radio but only had a very small number of opportunities to see them live in concert. As I watched Mick Jagger in this video, I thought to myself, he was quite a performer!!! He used hand gestures and he had stage presence I wasn't aware of by only hearing him via airwaves.

After Ruby Tuesday, "Far Away Eyes," came on. I never heard that song before but was glad I did. He was a country storyteller too! I never thought about him in any other way, other than some Rocker!
