Politics and The Housing Market

Who will be best at working out the "Housing Crisis" that the politician and the media think we are in?

Clinton and Obama thinks there should be a multibillion dollar bailout for big banks and speculators, John McCain seems to believes a balanced and transparency approach.  Which one is better?

I'm not really sure which is better and I'm sure none of these politicians will ask those of us who do this every day and it is our livelihood and our future.

What I do know is that when I was a senior in high school taking that government and economics class my wonderful teacher would reinterate over and over  "When The Housing Market Falls, so does the Rest of the Economy."  He was just a HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER,  but seems to me he had it right.

Which one of the candidates has it right for our industry?

Terry-Great topic.  One thing is for sure, taking more tax money from Realtors, investors and homeowners like Obama and Hillary want to do will not help anything.  Obama wants to almost double the capitol gains tax and charge higher cooperate taxes and we all know if you are a llc that will affect you.

Allowing the market to fix itself is the best policy. Yes, at times like now it is hard but given time the housing market and the economy will go back into balance. For example if there is a sudden demand for new housing in an area the builders get to work and build new homes. They will keep building until they start having houses on their inventory that are not selling because the balance has now shifted and the demand is no longer there. At this point  the government did not have to step in and tell the builders not to build new homes at the some rate as when there was high demand. The builders profits where effected and they made the discision all on the own, for the better of their business.

I agree with your teacher, the housing markets across the country started tipping and went way to far. However they will balance back if given time.
