Where Is "The Hudson Valley?"

Orange County, NY Commuters Call The Hudson Valley Home

Have you ever wondered where "the Hudson Valley" is, or what it looks like? A short drive from New York City by car, bus or train and you can see some rather beautiful scenary. My "backyard" in Orange County, NY is a rather amazing plethora of scenic views with an ever changing palate of colors and hues. On any given day there is something to admire and snag a photo of.

Map of The Hudson ValleyLiving in the Hudson Valley allows me to grab great photos, and be in an area that many are a bit confused about. "The Hudson Valley" is a region of eleven counties along the Hudson River. It encompasses three regions; the Lower Hudson Valley, The Mid- Hudson Valley, and The Upper Hudson Valley. My map shows the six counties that are within a commutable distance to NYC.

This is a rather large area and crosses quite a few counties. Not all of the locations are all that close to the water either. The one thing they all have in common is that the area is quite beautiful. All three have some great places to live.

It does seem rather confusing to anyone that is unfamiliar with this region of New York. To add more to the confusion, New York is home to a town called Hudson, in Columbia County. It is actually quite far from the water. Hudson, is not all that big, but with the name that is the same as the entire area, the region and the town can be mistaken for each other. Google hasn't quite decided what to show on their results page yet. Semantic searches will get better over time, and the results pages will show more info that highlights the Hudson Valley as a region.

Living in the Hudson Valley allows me to help clients find a home in the region that works best for them. Clients are quick to decide on a specific location based on proximity to work. Criteria for searching the vast amounts of choices when it comes to purchasing a home need to be streamlined. My job is to help guide you along the way.

Whether you want a home on 20 acres or a small building lot we have it all. New homes, historic homes, mid century modern and a traditional colonial or farmhouse are all within reach. Since the Hudson Valley is so large priorities of range from what schools and neighborhoods, size of a home, proximity to the highway.

If you are considering moving to the Hudson Valley, or relocating within the area, I'm here to help. I have lived in Orange County, NY for over 30 years. I love my home, and would be happy to share my knowledge in helping you find a dream home of your own.
