Pick up that phone

Managing Real Estate Broker with Fathom Realty AR LLC PB00068179

Pick up that phone.

One of my jobs as broker is of course to try and recruit agents to our agency. In the past I, have always sent out an email for those agents who had a closing the day before.

Recently instead of sending out those emails I’ve picked up the phone and made a call to the agent. So far so good as I have not had one gent who has been rude to me. They are receptive and listen, some ask questions, some don’t. what I have learned out of this experience I believe most agents would prefer a phone to instead of an email. Will I continue to call instead off email them, you bet I will. Just a thought for the moment

That will work fineJames I think till you hit young millenials, who will want either an email or better yet a text. Good luck in 2017 hitting your recruting goals.

There's great value in talking to someone, particularly face-to-face. It's a shame that so many are forgetting this and sticking to emails and texts. Thanks for sharing!

Good morning again James,

The email with a message that you will call on such and such date and time would work also.

Make yourself an astonishing day.

Great idea James. They can always claim it went into their spam filter and didn't see it.

Email is just too impersonal and takes little effort. A phone call to me, means you really are interested in sharing information and talking with the person.

A phone call, I believe, is much more personal. I feel you give and receive a clearer message than an impersonal email or text. There is an impersonal and invisible wall in our relationships and especially when we do not know someone. A phone call has a better chance of breaking through that wall than an email or text that can quickly be deleted. Do not get me wrong, there is definitely a place for emails and text messages.
