If you’re a first-time homebuyer and you’re looking at Grand Junction homes for sale, we’d love to help you.
3 Tips for First-Time Homebuyers
Even if you’re not a first-time homebuyer, you’ll probably find these house-hunting tips exceptionally helpful.
First-Time Homebuyer Tip #1: Real Estate Never Sleeps
When you’re looking at homes and you find one you want, you may need to jump on it quickly. People look at homes online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week… so if you find something you like, ask your Realtor® to schedule a showing as soon as possible.
Also, you need to know that no home is going to be absolutely perfect. Don’t get hung up on a minor detail if it’s going to cost you the house.
First-Time Homebuyer Tip #2: Get Financing Early
Refer back to Tip #1: Real Estate Never Sleeps. If your financing is all squared away, whether you’re getting a VA loan or another type of financing, you’ll be able to make an offer on a house you like quickly. Sellers may get multiple offers on their home, so if you’re the only one without financing in place, you may miss out.
First-Time Homebuyer Tip #3: Offer Low, But Be Flexible
Typically, it’s best to make a low offer… but not a low-ball offer. You don’t want to insult the sellers, and you don’t want to be unrealistic. (Remember, too, that the sellers might have multiple offers, and they’re not going to automatically pick the lowest one that comes in.)
Talk to your Realtor about a reasonable offer before you make one. He’ll know how to guide you down the right path.
